Ron's
Dunkelweizen
At
the Total United Northwood Effort (TUNE) wine tasting fund raiser on May
5, 2007, longtime Northwood electrician and community volunteer Ron
Bruggeman successfully bid to have a brew made to support the Northwood
movie theatre project. Ron shared a keg of his beer with friends and
family, with another keg of Ron’s beer sold with all proceeds going
toward the theatre. In June Ron worked with Worth Brewing Company brewer
Peter Ausenhus to craft a dark wheat beer that’s light on the palate but
full of flavor. We join TUNE in thanking Ron for his work to make
Northwood a great place to live.
This German-style
ale is classified as a dunkelweizen, or dark wheat beer. It shares a
light body and fruity aroma and flavor with its paler cousin, but
includes a chocolate, malty layer from the roasted grains.
