Our Philosophy

Quality beer: Those familiar with only bland corporate light lagers may be surprised that the complex flavors, aromas, colors and textures of beer surpass those of wine. We believe in providing a rotating range of Worth Brewing Company beers and selected fine American craft and imported world-class beer not available elsewhere in the region. We use only quality malt, hops, water and yeast.

Small and local=good: In the late 1800s, thousands of breweries were making beer to satisfy their neighborhoods and small towns. By 1970, Prohibition, post-war mass marketing and trans-continental transportation had whittled the number of breweries down to 40, with a handful accounting for 90 percent of the beer. This trend was anti-consumer, leaving the market with only a fizzy, bland product. The craft brewery movement of the past 25 years has reinvigorated the industry and once again provided a choice for discriminating drinkers.

Recognized styles: American craft brewers have made their mark with experimentation. We applaud and encourage these efforts, but will focus on duplicating the approximate 30 beer styles recognized by the Beer Judge Certification Program. When we serve a Scottish ale, you can be assured we use quality Scottish malt, English hops and a Scottish yeast strain. When we serve a pilsner, it will be a true lager, fermented and aged at the proper temperatures.
